Nurse Practitioner, Lifelong Learner, and One of Vibe’s Own: Meet Lynn Chadd

Some professionals bring more than expertise to their work, they might also bring a presence that strengthens the community. Lynn is one of those people. A family nurse practitioner with a Master’s of Science in Nursing, her own private practice, and over 36 years of experience. Lynn brings a depth of knowledge, warmth, and genuine curiosity to everything she does. She now sees patients out of one of Vibe’s private offices, and her story of how she got here is one worth knowing.

Who is Lynn?

Lynn’s relationship with medicine started before she could even articulate it. As a child, she had orthopedic issues that required major surgery and a body cast for the second year of her life. Looking back, she thinks that early experience planted the seed. She started working as a nurse’s aide in a nursing home at 16, and never really looked back.

By 1990, she had completed her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner and jumped straight into practice. She started in spinal cord trauma and rehabilitation, then surgical recovery, intensive care, rural emergency medicine, urgent care, family practice, and eventually teaching at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels.

After 11 years across those settings, she made the leap into private practice. The reason? Prevention. Today, Lynn practices Functional Medicine, which she describes as a natural evolution of good doctoring. “Finding the root of the problem” is how she puts it. Most symptoms are connected, and you simply can’t get to the bottom of that in a 10-minute visit. She takes her time, digs deep, and builds real relationships with her patients. Many of them have been with her for over 30 years.

The Unexpected Overlap of Private Practice and Coworking

Lynn made a deliberate decision: downsize thoughtfully, keep doing work she loves, and set herself up to practice for another decade on her own terms. That meant no more long-term leases, no more managing an office, and finding a space that felt bright, clean, and genuinely good to be in.

Enter Vibe.

Lynn had known Alanna for some time and had used the meeting rooms here before. When her lease came up in June and other subletting options fell through, she walked in and had a conversation. The private office had just become available and it turned out to be exactly what she needed.

It was a perfect fit for Lynn and her patients. Patients have commented on how much they enjoy the light and the windows. The space is ready when she arrives. All she needs to bring is her laptop and her phone. For someone who has managed her own office for 25 years, that simplicity is, in her words, “pure heaven.”

Lynn splits her practice between in-person visits at Vibe and Telehealth appointments from home a flexibility that the space supports beautifully, including access to a phone booth for calls when she wants a change of scenery. It’s a setup that works exactly as hard as she needs it to, without any of the overhead that used to come with it.

“The small office space where I can see my patients face to face is perfect,” she said. “It is intimate and my patients feel comfortable in the space.”

Healthcare Meets Happy Hour

Lynn will be the first to tell you that being a sole practitioner can be isolating. The relationships she has with her patients go a long way toward filling that gap but what she didn’t anticipate was finding a whole other layer of connection here at Vibe.

“I noticed a connection with the members and staff right away that I was not expecting,” she said. “You can’t help but feel part of the community and that is good for anyone.”

She joined for one of our Free First Friday Happy Hours at Crabtree, met members from all walks of life there, and found the energy of the space, particularly its younger members, genuinely invigorating. “The youth of the group is fun and makes me feel more vibrant,” she told us, and honestly, we love that.

Lynn also has a message for other health practitioners who might be wondering whether a setup like this could work for them: “I think other providers, especially counselors or health coaches would be able to utilize the private office really well. It is great that they made the effort when building to make these offices soundproof. And one of the best things about Vibe is that there is no long-term commitment.” No long leases. No office management headaches. Just show up and do the work you love.

A Few Things You Should Know About Lynn

Most people know Lynn for her work in hormone health, but her focus goes far beyond that. From autoimmune conditions and thyroid issues to gut health, chronic fatigue, and heart disease, she’s always looking at the bigger picture. After 36 years in healthcare, Lynn has learned the importance of balance. She starts her day with a good breakfast, keeps her schedule manageable, and gives each patient the time and attention they deserve. As she puts it, taking care of herself is part of taking care of others.

If there were a soundtrack to Lynn’s work, it would be Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey. The message resonates with her because so much of health coaching is helping people believe change is possible even when progress isn’t linear. There are setbacks, restarts, and small victories along the way.

That’s Lynn: thoughtful, patient, and committed to helping people for the long haul.

“Individuals need to be encouraged to believe in themselves, I help them to overcome any obstacles that gets in the way of that. When we can honor and believe in our true authentic selves, we free up energy for so much more.”
