Duality: A Quarantine Series

An exhibition by Ash Oaksmith

This exhibit, Duality, was envisioned and created during the early months of the 2020 pandemic. It is an expression of diverse societal reactions: loneliness and rest, fear and renewal, rage and relief. A moment in time where the needs of humankind were forced to align with those of nature.

About Ash Oaksmith

Ash Oaksmith is a third generation artist and has been painting for twenty years. Much of her work is inspired by the impressive beauty of the Olympic Mountains and Greater Puget Sound Area. She also draws from her substantial travels and childhood summers on the Great Lakes. These experiences typically actualize through vivid colors and texture in impressionistic ‘lonely landscapes’. Ash’s ability to capture the interaction between different planes with wind and water gives the viewer a constant sense of motion. Her chosen mediums are acrylic and oilbar, usually applied with a thin fan brush. See more at ashoaksmith.com.
