Bringing the energy after hours: Say hi to Jai Swartz

At Vibe, the energy doesn’t end when the workday does. From evening meetups and celebrations to workshops and community events, our space stays alive well after hours—and it takes the right kind of person to help make that happen.

Enter Jai Swartz. Whether she’s setting up for a member event or welcoming guests with her signature warmth, Jai brings intention, enthusiasm, and a deep love for connecting people. With a background in event coordination and a passion for making spaces feel both inviting and impactful, she’s here to help make your after-hours experience at Vibe feel just right.

Curious what fuels her creativity and community spirit? Get to know Jai.

Jai Swartz joined the Vibe Coworks team in May 2025 as our newest After Hours Host. Her warmth, welcoming spirit, and natural knack for hospitality made her a seamless fit from the start—and did we mention she knows just about everyone in town?

A community builder at heart and an event enthusiast by nature, Jai brings a deep love for connection and creativity to everything she does. Whether she’s coordinating weddings, organizing a local farmers market, or helping her daughter plan a mini pop-up, Jai’s always finding ways to bring people together and make moments meaningful.

Tell us a little about yourself and background.

Jai: I was born and raised in Guam but now call Kitsap home. While I miss the food and sunsets on the island, I traded my flip-flops for hiking boots. If I have any free time, you can find me outdoors with friends or family. I’ll be celebrating 13 years of marriage with my supportive husband, Karsten, and sending off my 5-year-old daughter to Kindergarten this fall. My family and I love to travel, so we are always off to our next adventure, whether near or far.

What brought you to Vibe Coworks? How did you find out about the After Hours Host opportunity?

Jai: My “cousin” Yvette is a Vibe member and told me about the After Hours Host opportunity, saying I would be a perfect fit. Thankful for her connecting us!

What do you enjoy most about being in the space after hours?

Jai: I love the aesthetic and environment at Vibe, whether it’s quiet or lively. I’m all about community and people, so meeting new faces and hosting events energizes me. The coworking space is also beautiful and inviting.

What’s your favorite part of hosting events or supporting the community in this role?

Jai: My favorite part is meeting new people and working with an amazing and supportive team. I learn a great deal from everyone around me.

Have you had a favorite Vibe moment so far- a standout event, conversation, or interaction?

Jai: I love that Vibe hosts social events before or after working hours, such as Waffle Wednesday or member Happy Hours. It provides an opportunity to take a break from the hustle and bustle of completing tasks and creates a fun environment for people to connect.

I’m all about community and people, so meeting new faces and hosting events energizes me.

What kind of work, projects, or creative outlets are you currently pursuing?

Jai: At Vibe, I’ll be focusing on the White Tie Picnic. Outside of Vibe, I love hosting events! I have three weddings to coordinate this summer and the Old Town Farmers market- I’m helping coordinate and will be trying to fill in the market with vendors in the area.

If you could host any event at Vibe, what would it be and why?

Jai: I’m an ideas person. I would love to gather existing non-profits that support kids and youth, and pair them with business entrepreneurs who are passionate about investing in the next generation. Together, they could empower and equip young people with basic business concepts to help bring their big ideas to life. It would be fun to channel their creativity and help make dreams come true by pairing it to meet needs in Kitsap. My daughter challenges me with ideas that she wants to do, and instead of saying, “No, or I can’t, it forces me to ask why not?”. For example, my five-year-old wants to host a clean-up party with friends to pick up garbage she saw on the side of the road. Meanwhile, she wants to start up a Mini’s Market with her friends to sell their art, toys, and baked goods.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

Jai: My friends and family are always surprised about who I know; they tease and call me the Mayor. I was in Europe backpacking with my husband, and when we were in Florence, Italy, I walked in a building and heard someone yell our last name across the room. We were surprised to see each other in such an unexpected place.

What inspires your creativity or helps keep you feeling curious?

Jai: My faith is Jesus enables me to view the world and others through a different lens. I’m humbled every morning to remember that time is a gift, and I don’t want to waste a moment in life. I have learned to live more or less, stay flexible in the face of change, find peace in chaos, and learn from others as I go.

Time is a gift, and I don’t want to waste a moment in life.

Rapid Fire

What’s your go-to coffee or tea order?

Jai: Iced Mochas or Vanilla Latte OR a Lotus Spritzer

Are you more of an early bird or a night owl?

Jai: In between. I can wake up early or stay up late and will be energized by either one depending on what it’s for.

If you could instantly master one random skill, what would it be?

Jai: I want to master the art of cooking so I can be a good host that also can cook really well.

Favorite local place to explore, relax, or recharge?

Jai: It might be due to my island roots but I love visiting any of the marinas or boat launches in Kitsap. Tracyton, Seabeck, Poulsbo, Silverdale, Manette. Put me by water with a view of the mountains and I’m recharged.

Is there a quote, mantra, or idea you’re living by lately?

Jai: A mentor once told me that “the hardest person to lead is yourself”.
