2022 Wayzgoose Kitsap print season
Wayzgoose Kitsap’s Renewal exhibit celebrates the power of printmaking, showcasing a diverse collection of works that reflect the theme of renewal in both personal and environmental contexts. Through this dynamic collection of six prints from their 2022 season, Wayzgoose Kitsap brings together the voices of local artists, students, and community members to share stories of rebirth, resilience, and transformation. Each piece embodies the spirit of creativity in the streets, with art made by the people, for the people, and with love.
Featured in this micro-gallery exhibit at Vibe Coworks are works from the 2022 Renewal collection, including contributions from Brenda Calderon, Jo Roberts, Rosie Bromberg, Martha Makosky, the BARN team, and Hood Canal School students. Additional artists involved in the Renewal series include Nathan “NOCTO” Friend, Jonathan “FRO!” Perry, Terra Tapia, Spring Munsel Gideon, Leigh Knowles Metteer, Christopher Barnes, Ashley Martinez, Holly Moss, and Sam Enlow. Each piece captures the essence of renewal through a range of styles, mediums, and voices, showcasing the strength of creative collaboration and community.
About Wayzgoose
The first known Wayzgoose, thrown in 1681, was a boozy summer feast hosted by a Letterpress Printer for his Print Shop employees. The printing community embraces this annual tradition, often sharing a harvest goose…hence the name, Wayzgoose.
Today, the Wayzgoose has been reimagined as a public arts festival. At Wayzgoose Kitsap, local artists print hand-carved linoleum blocks with full-size steamrollers in the Marvin Williams Center of Bremerton.
