About the role
The After Hours Host plays a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for members and guests who are holding meetings and events during evening and weekend hours. This position involves managing the coworking space outside of our regular business hours, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a welcoming and productive work environment.
You will be a great fit for this role if you are personable, proactive, and thrive in a dynamic environment. You should be comfortable working independently during evening and weekend hours and have a passion for creating positive experiences for others.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creating exceptionally high hospitality experiences, and exudes warmth, energy, professionalism and firmness. You know when to be discreet, and can keep the confidence of our members and guests when needed.
The After Hours Host role is a flexible, part time position, with hours determined by the event bookings of our members and guests.
Key responsibilities
Welcoming Members and Guests
Greet and assist everyone entering the space, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported in finding their way around, setting up basic tech equipment, and settling in for their meeting or event.
Space Management
Oversee the coworking areas, meeting rooms, and common spaces, ensuring they remain tidy, functional, and well-stocked with necessary supplies. Basic cleaning and light lifting is required, including the setup / rearranging of furniture, and collection of trash post-events.
Event Support
Assist with evening and weekend events hosted at Vibe Coworks, which may include setting up, managing logistics, and providing on-the-spot support to event organizers and attendees.
Member + Guest Assistance
Address any questions, concerns, or needs that arise, providing solutions or escalating issues to the appropriate team members as necessary.
Safety + Security
Monitor the space to ensure a safe environment for all, following Vibe Coworks’ protocols for security and emergency situations.
Community Engagement
Foster a sense of community by engaging with members and guests, promoting networking opportunities, and encouraging participation in Vibe Coworks activities and events as appropriate.
Requirements
- You. Love. People.
- You’re personable, punctual, and dependable.
- You have a can-do, problem-solver attitude and work well independently; you’re a quick learning self-starter who loves learning new things and finding creative solutions.
- You don’t get flustered easily. If you don’t know the answer, you’ll dig until you find it.
- Practicing “the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers” (aka hospitality!) lights you up.
- Nothing gets past you, yet you’re discreet and can keep the confidence of our members and guests who may be operating in stealth mode.
- You’ve got your ego in check. There’s no task that’s “below you”. You are a self-starter team member who understands the rule of “all hands on deck” inside small organizations.
- Familiarity with the Google suite of products (Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Gmail), and basic tech equipment (webcams, HDMI connections for laptops and projectors).
- Fluency in English; additional languages warmly welcomed.
Compensation + Role structure
- $17 per hour with competitive benefits package
- This is an on-remand, hourly part time position
- Hours per week will fluctuate per the demand of events and meetings booked by our members and guests. It is estimated, but not guaranteed, at approximately 6 – 8 hours per month.
- Most work hours will fall between the hours of 5 – 9pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend hours requested.
- In most instances, you will be working as the sole Vibe employee on site.
- You will report to the Vibe Coworks Community Manager.
